Alabama Cares – Family Caregiver Support Program
  • In-home respite to relieve caregivers
  • Transportation for caregivers/seniors to medical visits
  • Occasional meals
  • Minor home repairs, yard work
  • Constructing ramps & other simple home modifications
  • Assisting grandparents with activities for grandchildren
  • Chore services, house cleaning
  • Clerical support
  • Staffing display booth at health fairs
  • Training for caregivers & grandparents

Insurance Counseling

  • Clerical assistance
  • Distributing information at exhibits
  • One-on-one counseling
  • Organizing / planning / scheduling events

Long-Term Care Ombudsman

  • Friendly visiting nursing homes & residents

Senior Centers

  • Delivering meals to homebound
  • Recreational activities – games, arts & crafts, music, etc.

SenioRx Prescription Assistance & Wellness Program

  • Nurses and pharmacists to review prescribed drugs
  • Clerical assistance
  • Public speaking to conduct wellness classes
