Central Alabama Aging Consortium held its first Harvest Festival the first week of November. Nearly 100 seniors from the tri county area joined us. They took advantage of a free giveaway of incontinent, cleaning and nutrition booster supplies provided by CAAC and 9 sponsors. It was a great event with lots of music, free hot dogs and baked beans and finished with some bingo to get the blood running. We hope to make this an annual event.
Central Alabama Aging turned 48 years young on November 13. The agency has been serving Autauga, Elmore, and Montgomery Counties since 1975. During that time, we have served thousands of clients, young and old as one of Alabama’s 13 Area Agencies on Aging contracted by the Alabama Department of Senior Services. It has been a great run, and Year 49 promises to be even bigger. Look for lots of events in 2024. Our mission is to connect you to services, “because we are all aging.”
We’ve been at the Montgomery County Health Fair in Grady. Melissa, Meghan, Chandra, and Veronica talked to more than a hundred people between them at the WAKA Health Expo in Montgomery. We met some great people at the Prattville Library. They had questions about long term care. Folks attending the Tour of Wellness event in Millbrook at Village Green Park wanted to know how Medicare works and how to choose the best supplement plan. Short answer: Make an appointment with our SHIIP counselor. Look for us all over the tri county area. We’d love to answer your questions.
